Cookie Cutters

So I decided that since my baby boy is soon going to be one he deserved and “real” haircut. His hair has been getting pretty long and one year old pictures are fast approaching so we booked him an appointment at a kids hair cutting place by us called Cookie Cutters. It was such a cute place and they did such a good job. My little boy is a stud!

Birthday fun

Nate’s birthday is today and he turns 27! I tease him that he is now in his late 20’s:) He thought he could get away with no one remembering his birthday but he should’ve known better. I would NEVER let that happen! A couple things got in the way of plans ( like a babysitter) but we altered them and had a fun birthday evening with the kids. We went to Color Me Mine in Draper and decided to make Nate some of his very own “Daddy bowls”. He can never seem to find the right size cereal bowl so that is what we did. They turned out SO cute. We did a bowl from Tayla and a bowl from Gavin. Each bowl had their hand prints on it like they were holding the bowl ad then on one side it says Dad’s cereal and on the other side it says hands off! We are supposed to get them back on Friday and then I’ll take pictures to show you. I took the camera but it ended up being pretty hectic and it never came out of the diaper bag:-/ Anyway Happy birthday to Nate. Thanks for all that you do and we love you tons!Hope you had a happy day.

Daddy’s Day

Yesterday for Daddy’s day Nate and I decided to each spend it with our Dads. I went to my parents house and had a really yummy dinner that my mom fixed and enjoyed being able to spend time with them and with my brother Justin and his family who were in town from Alaska. My mom had the coolest cake ever for father’s day….

The guys loved their presents, the little girls had so much fun playing and Nicholes sister came over at the end with their adorable little puppy Harley. She is the tiniest sweetest thing and Tayla was in heaven. She carried her around forever, being so sweet and gentle.

Colorado continued

Ok so I’ve been completely neglectful of my blog but It’s been a pretty rough busy and long week. But here I am to end our trip in Colorado. It was a pretty crazy trip. In the two weeks that we were there we made 4 trip to the urgent care, 2 doctors appointments and 1 trip to the ER. Gavin had a 105 fever for 5 days straight. In the end he is better, we have some new ideas as to what might be going on with him which really just equals more drs appointments and more tests. We’ll see. Other than that it was great. It was nice to be able to spend the time with my sister and her family and I’m so grateful for their generosity. Tayla and Morgan had lots of fun together and another trip is definetely in order:) Maybe this fall when things settle down a bit. So to wrap it up here are random pictures from the time we were there.

Morgan; she’s just adorable and I miss her so much! (I put her hair in pigtails for the first time ever and she asked me many days after that for “pig, pig pig?”)

The girls had fun playing with the dogs too. Tayla especially LOVED those dogs.

img_5232-small.JPG

Despite the size difference can you believe that there is only a 4 month age difference in these two girls?! Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum!

Tayla loved to wear Steph’s boots

We had a day of crazy hair for the girls…

The last night we were there  Gavin found these nerf “arrows” and loved to chew and suck on them. It kept him entertained for quite a while!

Saturday morning even though I REALLY didn’t want to leave or come home we hit the road around noon. After having a very slow start and then stopping at a Gymboree outlet, I realized around 6 that night that there was no way we would be able to drive straight so we stopped in Reddin WY and stayed the night at a hotel. It worked out great. The kids slept great and slept in and so did I. After quickly throwing clothes on and getting eveything back in the car we hit the road about 9:00. We hit some prety bad weather coming into Utah but made it home safe and sound about 4 in the afternoon.
Thanks again Chris and Steph we all had so much fun!

Kix

Gavin was sitting in his highchair eating Kix one morning when Steph and I noticed something really funny. Can you figure out what it is?

He somehow managed to get a Kix balanced on his ear! Haha - we knew those ears would come in handy!;)

Day at the park

Saturday afternoon Steph had to go into work so Chris and I took the kids down to the park. They absolutely loved it!

The girls loved the swings and slides.

Morgan even tried rock climbing!

img_5312small.JPG

Then there was Gavin….I decided that he would like the swings. At first he seemed to hate it and while he never cried or fussed he certainly seemed to be gripping on for dear life!

img_5300small.JPG

Then he relaxed more and seemed to really enjoy it. So much so that if I stopped pushing him or tried to get him out he would scream!

img_5305small.JPG

By the end he was too relaxed and clearly was no longer scared!

Froggy

 frog.JPG

Saturday was a beautiful day. I’ve been having so much fun here being able to spend time with Steph, Chris, and Morgan. Chris was out mowing the lawn and yelled into us to bring the girls out because their was a big toad in the grass. It was so funny the girls didn’t know what to think. They both were very curious but quite cautious too.

Here is Tayla looking without getting too close

img_5265small.JPG

And Gavin was not too sure what to think

And Morgan

I love this picture of Gavin. The look on his face is just like ” What the heck is that grass looking thing?!”

img_5271small.JPG

We chased the frog out of the yard and Chris finished mowing. He’s also the best bro-in-law ever because after that he went out front and washed my car….just because he’s nice!:) Later that afternoon anytime we went into the backyard Tayla would walk out into the grass and look all over saying “Here froggy. Come here froggy! Where did you go froggy?”

Teeth

I love the little baby grins with one or very few teeth and Gavin’s are very easy to see now so here they are….
