Doha, April 18
Qatar Chamber held a meeting today with a trade delegation from the Republic of Liberia visiting Doha, headed by HE Liberia’s Labor Minister Moses Kollie.
The two sides discussed prospects for cooperation on a commercial level and exploring available investment opportunities.
During the meeting, HE Liberia’s Labor Minister expressed his country’s aspiration to strengthen relations of cooperation with the State of Qatar and to open windows for joint cooperation with the private sector, including enhancing the presence of Liberian labor in the Qatari market, HE the Minister called on Qatari businessmen to invest in Liberia, and reviewed the opportunities and climate of investment in his country and its capabilities in sectors including agriculture, tourism, mining, banking, oil, infrastructure, fisheries and hotels.
He said that Liberia provides great investment facilities and incentives to foreign investors, which makes it a safe destination for Qatari investments, and referred to the efforts exerted by the Liberian government to facilitate the business environment, encourage foreign investments and remove all obstacles to the flow of foreign capital to the Liberian economy.
Vice Chairman of Qatar’s Chamber Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Towar , said that the Qatari market, with is witnessing huge boom, can absorb a lot of skilled and qualified manpower in all sectors, especially that the coming period will witness more projects and factories that require more skilled workers, stressing that the Chamber will encourage business owners and employees of the private sector to explore the market and the investment climate in Liberia.
