Qatar Chamber Chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani met on Wednesday with a delegation of Congress members from the United States headed by Representative HE Darrell Edward Issa, from California.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United States of America, HE Sheikh Meshal bin Hamad Al Thani alongside with many QC board members ad Qatari businessmen .
During the meeting, both parties reviewed means of enhancing commercial and investment relations between the two countries, and investment opportunities available in both countries and areas of cooperation between Qatari and US businessmen in forging new commercial alliances whether in Qatar or in US.
HE Sheikh Khalifa confirmed the Chamber’s keenness to strengthen cooperation ties between both countries’ businessmen in a way that helps in developing in their bilateral trade which stood at QR 19.5 bn ($5.4bn) in 2020, while it reached QR 9.1 bn ($2.5bn) during the first half of the current year.
He noted that US is one Qatar’s most important trade partners, citing the successful Qatari investments in the US and the willingness of Qatar private sector in increase its investments there.
