Qatar Chamber’s Registration and Membership Committee has recently held its third meeting to discuss mechanisms of updating member’s database.
Qatar Chamber General Manager Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi, who is also committee chairman, presided over the meeting, which discussed activating the electronic linking between the Chamber and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to remove the cancelled companies from the database, in addition to add new companies and update a joint database of commercial sectors between the ministry and the chamber.
The meeting was also attended by Saleh bin Faraj Al-Marri, Assistant Director of the Commercial Registration and Licenses Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Mohamed Hamad Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Single Window, and members of the Committee from the Chamber.
The meeting reviewed the possibility of adding the chamber’s electronic services to the Single Window, so that these services will be easily available for the chamber’s members, and in a way that contributes to achieving Qatar e-Government 2020 Strategy.
The committee recommended boosting coordination between the chamber and the Single Window to identify the most important services offered by the chamber which can be provided through the Single Window.
It also recommended updating of members’ data, creating a technological environment that supports the electronic link between the chamber and the ministry, as well as studying the conditions and possibilities of providing the chamber’s services to the institutions that do not have a commercial registry and have a commercial license, and those with professions and other activities whose work requires providing services from the chamber.
It was agreed that the committee would hold a monthly meeting to follow up all issues related to company registration and classification according to their economic sectors, developing e-services and enhancing cooperation between both sides in this regard.
